At the Istanbul International Auto ,Fiat presents Grande Punto Radical,an extreme show car.The car underlines the important role played by the Grande Punto in the market. This week three production versions are on show .Fiat has a strong rally presence in Turkey with the new Super2000 category Grande Punto Rally.

The new Fiat Linea, the C-segment saloon has made its world debut at the show. Characterised by large air intake areas, outrageous spoilers,massive rear wing,huge wheel arches,Radicale has captured the attention of visitors. A large exhaust is exposed by the rear bumper area completely cutaway. Developed by a team of Abarth engineers and designers, the ‘500 Abarth Assetto Corse’ will campaign on race tracks across Europe in 2009.

The Abarth version sports a full racing kit with a wider track, white 17’ special ultralight racing wheels, low ride, sports racing mirrors and a place for a number on the sides. It also receives a new, more aggressive front end with an aerodynamic chin spoiler, a white winged spoiler, dual exhaust outlets and Abarth branding. The Abarth heritage is also expressed with a thunderbolt logo on the side representing the brand’s racing image and a red band and four white checkers on the roof, just as on the winning Abarth 850TC version of the 1960s.

Inside the ‘500 Abarth Assetto Corse’ gets the full race-spec roll-cage treatment, sports steering wheel, racing harness and an optimised racing position, shifting the racing seats closer toward the centre of the car. These changes add up to a 180kg weight reduction over the standard 500 - which was no porker to begin with.

The Focus RS is the hardcore rally-bred performance model. With two consecutive Manufacturers' World Rally Championship titles under our belt, the time is right to create a new Focus RS, said John Fleming, Ford of Europe's President and CEO. With the Fiesta and Focus ST models, Jost [Capito] and his team have proved already that they can deliver exciting and practical performance road cars. The success of these models, combined with Jost's experience in motorsport and Ford of Europe's positive business results, mean that we now have a credible business case for a no-compromise Focus RS roadcar for more enthusiastic drivers.

Cologne,But does 'no-compromise' mean AWD? That's the sticking point at the moment. If the new Focus RS is AWD is will may be able to rival the Subaru WRX STI and Mitsubishi Evo X head on and be a true super hatch. If not, it'll just be another hot hatch with tough body work.

At the British International Motor Show, Ford has introduced the ECOnetic version of its Ford Fiesta. The engine is a 1.6-liter Duratorq TDCi (diesel) that has been tweaked for efficiency. Fuel economy for the ECOnetic Fiesta is 3.7 L/100km (63.6 mpg US) combined, or 3.2 L/100km (73.5 mpg US) on the highway! It's not exactly a race car, with 0 to 60 mph in 12 seconds, but those who will buy it won't care, the mileage will more than make up for it. The Mondeo has been Ford of Europe's mid-size sedan since the mid-90s, with the latest version introduced in 2007. (Ford tried selling the first-generation Mondeo in the US as the Contour, with limited success.) Though similar in size to the Ford Fusion and Mazda 6, the Mondeo does not share the CD3 platform that underpins those two cars.

A new Ferrari is always a cause for celebration, especially when it’s a front-engined Ferrari. So the piece I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the new Ferrari California due to go on sale, probably next year, caused a wave of emails.

And I thought you all might have a point. There are lots of good-looking cars that really lose it when the top goes up. But we needn’t have worried. It looks stunning when the top is in place, as the picture here testifies. Now I agree that Rosso is the default colour for a Ferrari. But they are a bit common. So it’s nice to see this picture, just released, in something different. And in this case it’s a homage to the original California - Azzurro California blue.

Since Ferrari released the first official photos and details about its new California hard-top convertible last week, the car has no doubt caused an unhealthy amount of drool to collect in pools around the world. Of course, Ferrari debuted the car in the only color it could: Ferrari Red. But there are many other hues out there and we suspect Ferrari owners, at least those in the U.S. who have no shame, are not your typical fanboys and will repaint their California convertibles on day one of ownership to match their favorite shirt. The folks at pigmag.com apparently understand this behavior, and have created a series of images showing the 2009 Ferrari California in every unnatural tinge your mind could conjure. We like the gunmetal gray with the matte black wheels, but your 16-year-old daughter may lean toward the pink one with shiny chrome rims.

Power for the Audi GT3 has been boosted to 500hp and the engineers digged deep into the technics to conform with GT3 standards. The four-wheel-drive system had to be replaced with a more conventional GT rear-wheel drive system and it is also equipped with a newly developed six-speed sports sequential gear box.

For the first time, Audi Sport will offer a racing sports car specifically developed for customer use in the form of the powerful 500 hp plus GT3 version of the Audi R8 which will be available from autumn 2009. The logistics and factory space required for the AUDI AG customer programme will be created over the next few months in Ingolstadt, Neckarsulm and Gyr.”The R8 is the first production Audi bearing the name and genes of a successful racing sportscar and is therefore an excellent base from which to build up our first big customer sport programme, explains Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich. “Ever since the R8 was unveiled weve been inundated with enquiries about a race version. With the Audi R8 we will offer customers a racing sportscar equipped with high-calibre technology and the typical Audi qualities, but which is nevertheless easy to handle.

The Audi R8 conforms to the production-based GT3 regulations allowing the car to be fielded in numerous national and international race series. Because the GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive the Audi R8 comes with the typical GT rear-wheel drive. The power is transmitted via a newly developed six-speed sequential sports gearbox. The suspension uses almost exclusively components from the production line. A comprehensive list of safety equipment guarantees the highest-level of passive safety. A modified front end and a large rear-wing generate the required downforce for the race track.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW), English Bavarian Motor Works is a German automobile and motorcycle manufacturing company. Founded in 1916, it is known for its performance and luxury vehicles. It owns and produces the MINI brand, and is the parent company of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. After World War I, BMW were forced to cease aircraft engine production by the terms of the Versailles Armistice Treaty. The company consequently shifted to motorcycle production in 1923 once the restrictions of the treaty started to be lifted, followed by automobiles in 1928.
The circular blue and white BMW logo or roundel is often alleged to portray the movement of an airplane propeller, to signify the white blades cutting through the blue sky - an interpretation that BMW adopted for convenience in 1929, which was actually twelve years after the roundel was created. In fact, the emblem evolved from the circular Rapp Motorenwerke company logo, from which the BMW company grew. The Rapp logo was combined with the blue and white colors of the flag of Bavaria to produce the BMW roundel so familiar today.

Sports car racing is a form of circuit auto racing with automobiles that have two seats and enclosed wheels. They may be purpose-built or related to road-going sports cars. A kind of hybrid between the purism of open-wheelers and the familiarity of touring car racing, this racing is often associated with the annual Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race. First run in 1923, it is one of the oldest motor races still in existence. Other classic but now defunct sports car races include the Italian classics the Targa Florio (1906 - 1977) and Mille Miglia (1927-1957), and the Mexican Carrera Panamericana. Most top class sports car races emphasise endurance (races are typically anywhere from 2.5 to 24 hours in length), reliability and strategy over pure speed. Longer races usually involve complex pit strategy and regular driver changes - sports car racing is seen more as a team sport than a gladiatorial individual sport and team managers like John Wyer, Tom Walkinshaw, driver-turned-constructor Henri Pescarolo, Peter Sauber and Reinhold Joest have become almost as famous as many of their drivers.

The prestige of Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, Lotus, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Aston Martin derives in part from success in sports car racing and the World Sportscar Championship. Road cars sold by these manufacturers have in many cases been very similar to the cars that were raced, both in engineering and styling. It is this close association with the 'exotic' nature of the cars that serves as a useful distinction between sports car racing and Touring Cars. The 12 Hours of Sebring, 24 Hours of Daytona, and 24 Hours of Le Mans were once widely considered to be the trifecta of sports car racing; driver Ken Miles would have been the only driver to win all three in the same year, but an error in the team orders of the Ford GT40 team at Le Mans in 1966 took the win from him, although he finished first.
